Its a great *game* but plagued with typical technical problems that can ruin a game and really make the game unplayable. Freezing, other player takes YOUR turn, other player takes multiple turns, notification failures, sudden win/loss when no winning condition met, inability to resign a game...you get the idea.

Most of us already know that Hive is a fun game, so Ill review the app itself. First of all it needs to be updates. There are Hive fans everywhere people play board games. The app hasnt been updated so long that it is still formatted for screen size shorter than current iPhones. It also looks like Retina display isnt utilized. There is a choice of background colors. But almost none of them are good because theyre solid colors and none of them look good except black or grey. Game needs textured backgrounds like wooden table, table cloth, or poker table. What also would help is faster animations for faster paced play. But whats good is that the game still doesnt crash or has any game stopping bugs. So its still good despite not having been updated for probably two years or more.

Should have read reviews first. Resolution of app is poor and doesnt support newer phone screen size. Otherwise good implementation of the board game.

Please fix this app. It wasnt even free and it has tons and of glitches. I was looking forward to playing this game with other iPhone users but all your glitches make the game playing hard to do and unfair depending on who benefits from the glitches.

The app is still formatted for iphone 4/4s, AI is not worth playing once you know how to play the game, looks unpolished and can be very buggy (no pun intended). For a paid app its insulting the developer doesnt bother updating it and make easy fixes.
